1908 The Association was founded in Hong Kong under its former name, the Chinese Football Team.
The member of Hong Kong Football Association under the name, South China Recreation Club in 1916
1910 Renamed as the South China Football Club with about forty promising players.
1916 Became the member of Hong Kong Football Association under the name, South China Recreation Club.
1920 The current name, South China Athletic Association was adopted in this year. Various sports activities were developed including kindergarten classes and students activities.

1927 The Government allotted the present site at Caroline Hill to the Association. A football pitch, running track, volley ball and basketball playground were built.
1929 A permanent tennis pavilion at King's Park and bathing pavilion at Tsat Tze Mui, North Point were completed.
1934 A 2-storey concrete clubhouse together with spectator stands was completed at Caroline Hill.
1941 During the World War II, Tsat Tze Mui, North Point bathing pavilion was totally destroyed and the Caroline Hill clubhouse was occupied by the Japanese army.
